Pairing USA Wines with Home Design

I have a confession to make.

I don’t just enjoy wine—I love it. Our friendship deepened during the chaos of 2020 when, like many of you, I took comfort in a good pour while navigating uncertain times. I’m no sommelier, but I’ve come to appreciate the stories behind every bottle and the joy of discovering something new.

I also have a mission.

If you follow me or LDD Interiors, you know I’m passionate about celebrating American craftsmanship. From stunning interiors to beautifully crafted products, I believe in shining a light on the talent and ingenuity right here in the USA.

And, of course, I have a passion.

Design is my life’s work—creating interiors and outdoor escapes that not only reflect my clients’ personalities but also elevate their everyday living. My style is an artful balance of refinement and ease, splendor and comfort, always grounded in time-honored tradition with a fresh, organic touch.

So, what happens when my confession, my mission, and my passion intersect?

You get this blog: a perfect pairing of two things I love—wine and design. With the help of @CorkdinCT wine enthusiast, Chris Fiore, I’ve curated American wines to complement some of LDD’s favorite home designs. From the right wine to sip to the best American-made stemware to serve it in, this is about blending the beauty of our spaces with the indulgence of a well-chosen vintage.

Grab your glass and join me on this journey of pairing American wines with American style—you’re going to love this!

Modern Flare: Pinot Noir

Elegant, with bright red fruit flavors of cherry & raspberry, complemented by subtle hints of earth and spice. It is refined and smooth. Clean lines with sophisticated simplicity of modern design.

Truchard Vineyards Pinot Noir

Contemporary: Rousanne

Full and silky in body but also charmingly crisp.  Notes of pear, apple, and citrus, set off with a subtle spiciness. The lees contact and partial malo give richness and texture without compromising acidity.

Transitional: Red Blend

A blend of 10 different red grapes from 10 different vineyards, a delicious hodgepodge. An easy drinking, fruit-forward red. Juicy jammy and joyful there are gobs of dark berry fruit with pepper and purple floral notes. Soft and vibrant this is a fun partner with ribs or pulled pork or throw on a slight chill and enjoy it on the patio.

Traditional: Cabernet Sauvignon

Juicy, flavorful and approachable, this wine is delicious and good value. Dripping with ripe plum, freshly picked berries and just enough cocoa for additional depth

USA STEMWARE: Rolf Twist Wine Glass

Modern Farmhouse: Syrah

A deep and pure wine which shows distinctly savory notes of olive, black licorice, and black tea are followed by dark fruit, warm spice, and game. The whole-cluster fermentation provides beautiful aromatic lift and the high natural acidity keeps the wine fresh and bright on the palate. Organically farmed, 100% native fermentation.

Tropical: Amber (Orange Wine)

Aromatic notes of dried apricots, orange zest, and wildflowers. Flavors of stone fruits, citrus, and a hint of spice, with a balanced acidity and a textured mouthfeel.  The wine is a beautiful hazy peachy-coral; tropical.  A blend of Chenin Blanc/Pinot Gris/ Riesling, this is an "orange wine" that will please both Orange wine aficionados and novices.
